General Kitchen Settings

Use the General Kitchen Settings to define default settings for all screens at selected sites.
From the Kitchen Settings menu, select General Kitchen Settings.
From the Site Selector, select the sites to update (if applicable).
From the General Kitchen Settings page, select the settings to define:

Description
Define general operation settings, including maintenance and logging settings.
Configure the Production Forecast Pane, which displays the product quantities to prepare to meet forecasted demand.
Assign colors to item categories to make it easier to identify associated products on displays.
Define general kitchen display settings, including bump and order session settings.
General

From the General section of the General Kitchen Settings editor, define the following:
Setting | Description |

Days To Keep Logs | Number of days to retain logs before deleting them. |
Logging | Log outputs from the server. |
Maintenance Retry Duration (Minutes) | If scheduled maintenance does not start successfully, Kitchen retries maintenance within the specified number of minutes. |
Maintenance Time | Time of day to perfor automated software maintenance. |
Port | Port number the API calls. |
Production | Log all output from production by default. |
Redundancy Port | Port number used by kitchen redundancy. |
Trace logging | Log all application output and traces where application events originate. |
Web Socket Port | Port number that communicates with client browser. |
Forecast Viewer

From the Forecast Viewer section of the General Kitchen Settings editor, define the following:
Setting | Description |

Refresh Interval | Define the interval at which the server pushes new forecaster data to the user interface. The default value is 2 minutes.

Segments Per Hour | From the dropdown menu, select the desired number of segments per hour. The default value is 2 (30 minute segments). |
Item Category Color

From the Item Category Colors section of the General Kitchen Settings editor, define the following:

Add Item Category Color | Assign a color to an item category. All order items in the item category are highlighted with the selected color on the kitchen displays.

From the Display section of the General Kitchen Settings editor, define the following:

Autobump | Amount of time that must pass after its arrival before order is automatically bumped.

Autobump Canceled Orders | Automatically bump orders when canceled / voided at the POS. Bumping canceled/voided orders reduces confusion and ensures canceled / voided order items are not prepared. |
Autobump Order States | Select POS order states to automatically bump from kitchen. NotaYour selections are highlighted in blue with a check mark. |
Display Combined Orders Method | From the dropdown, select method for displaying orders combined at the POS.

Min Bump Time | Amount of time that must pass after its arrival before the kitchen staff can bump a new order.

Number of Ingredients Displayed | Maximum number of ingredients to display on the Ingredient Summary Pane at one time. Valid range: 2-30 Default: 4 |

Order Sessions | Items added to an order over an extended period of time are divided into order sessions. An order session is a configurable period of time during which any items added to an order are displayed on the same ticket on the kitchen display. When the order session expires a new order session begins. Any items added to the same order during the new session are displayed on a new ticket. All kitchen tickets associated with the order are assigned the same order number. This enables the kitchen staff to see which order items have higher priority. When Order Sessions is disabled, all items added to an order are displayed on the same ticket on the kitchen display. When Order Sessions is enabled, specify the order session length in the Session Timer field:

Override Bump Restrictions | Enable user to bump order regardless of its order state. When enabled, define the following:
Orders can be bumped regardless of the upstream status indicators. NotaDefine order state bump restrictions using the Allowed Bump States setting in the Basic Configuration section of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor. |
Persist | Save the database on the physical hard drive whenever a change to the database occurs. A persisted database reloads on system startup if one is found. |
Recall Screen Inactivity Timer | Amount of time that must pass without user activity before Recall Order screen is automatically closed and default operations are resumed.
Maximum: 20 Minutes or 1200 Seconds Default: 30 seconds |
