This update addresses a reported incident with an Android tablet at a company site.

After profiling the tablet, the POS application did not load past the Storage Initialization > Preparing Database stage. After clearing data, the tablet was profiled successfully.

It was discovered the database file at the site was exceedingly large, which used an excessive amount of memory during EOD. Peak bursts of memory consumption lead to an OS memory management engagement, which ultimately suspends the app.

This update modifies how encrypted data is stored and significantly reduces the database file footprint, which will require less memory consumption.

When this setting is toggled Off, the user cannot perform transactions while the physical cash drawer is open.

The Operate with Drawer Open setting is defined from the General page of the Terminals editor in Data Management.

The Order Number Calculation Method is defined from the Order Rules subsection of the General section of Company/Site Preferences in Data Management.

When the Sequence Number Length method is used, the length of the order number depends on the Terminal Number. This method assures that an order number is never duplicated across terminals.

Recall Order Permission

When enabled, the Order.Recall.Open role permission allows the user to recall/open an order that is currently being edited on another terminal.

A notification appears when the user attempts to recall/open an order that is already open on another terminal. The user is notified that editing orders on more than one terminal will cause order edits to be abandoned on other terminals.

If the user selects Continue from this notification and the Order.Recall.Open permission is disabled for the current user role, then the user is notified that they do not have permission.

After acknowledging this notification, the user is prompted for manager approval to continue. If the user selects Cancel, the operation is canceled and the user is returned to the previous screen where they can perform another action.
