Manual Card Entry and Tipping

The ¶¶ÒõPoint of Sale (XPOS) Ordering application now supports manual card entry and tipping through Genius devices.

To improve user experience, ¶¶ÒõPoint of Sale (XPOS) now supports manual credit card entry using Genius devices. This update is meant to help with the following scenarios:

  • To accept payment from guests with damaged cards.

  • To quickly process refunds of past transactions without going through the Merchant Portal.

Enhancements to XVI Recipes

Various improvements for the Recipies module of ¶¶ÒõVenues Inventory (XVI).

  • For products linked to a Recipe, the cost field automatically updates according to the Recipe Cost.

  • When creating a transfer from Historical Quantities, the Quantity field automatically updates to match the unit field

  • When exporting files from the Transfers module, all cost related columns are hidden

  • Print a written sheet from transfers with a status of open or pending

  • The option to bulk print is accessible from transfers with a status of open or pending

  • Sort historical quantities of previous transfers by Item Name field

Product Exchange Enhancements

PRMA-4821

The following identifies enhancements to the product exchange feature. For user instructions, see Exchanges.

  • Exchange a retail product purchased in a previous transaction with another product of equal or lesser value. Optionally capture a Reason Code and indicate whether the exchanged product is returned to inventory (POS-5295).

  • Exchange retail products purchased from a different site within the same company. This provides greater flexibility by not forcing customers to return to the original purchase site to exchange a product (POS-48519).

  • Optionally print a QR Code on the customer receipt. Scanning the QR Code on the receipt facilitates the product return / exchange process (POS-14841).

  • Exchange a retail product without purchase information, such as a receipt or associated order number (POS-48520).

  • Improved cross-site search functionality to better track product updates at other sites. This update ensures that products returned / refunded at a site are not available to be returned / refunded at another site.

    Additionally, Refund / Return/ Exchange operations are forbidden for orders from another site if the POS terminal is offline.

Description

Product Exchange Availability

TheÌýOrdering ApplicationÌý→ÌýOrderingÌýsection of the Company/Site Preferences editors now includes the following settings:

  • Exchange Availability - From the dropdown, select the applicable option:

    • Allow Exchanges for Orders From This Site OnlyÌý- The customer may only exchange products that were purchased from this site.

    • Allow Exchanges for Orders From Other SitesÌý- The customer may exchange products that were purchased from a different site.

  • Exchange Threshold Level Restriction - Toggle Yes to define a price difference threshold at which exchanges are restricted.

    When toggled Yes, the following fields are displayed:

    • Restrict Method - From the dropdown, select the method to restrict exchanges: Amount or Percentage.

    • Max Difference Amount/Percentage - Type the maximum allowable difference between the price of the exchanged products.

      Type the allowable price difference as a currency amount or percentage.

Individual Product Return / Exchange Settings

From the Returns & ExchangesÌýpage of theÌýProduct ListÌýeditor, manage return and exchange settings for individual products, including:

  • Return / exchange eligibility.

  • Indicate if a Reason Code is required to return / exchange the product.

  • identify products that are eligible to be exchanged for the product.

Terminal Scheme Function

From the Functions & External Applications page of the Terminal Scheme editor, identify the functions the user may access from the Ordering application when using this terminal scheme.

The following function can now be enabled for terminal schemes:

  • Exchange - When enabled, the user is able to exchange a previously purchased product for another product.

POS Reason Codes

The following transaction type can now be associated with POS Reason Codes using the POS Reason Codes editor:

  • Exchange Item - Add this transaction type to the applicable POS reason codes. When the user performs a product exchange transaction, the associated POS reason codes are available for selection from the POS.

The following setting is available when the Exchange Item transaction type is added to a POS reason code. Configure this setting from the Selected Types section of the POS Reason Codes editor.

  • Return to Stock - Toggle Yes if this product is returned to inventory stock when this transaction is performed.

Print QR Code on Receipts

From theÌýOptions and SortsÌýsection of theÌýReceipt TemplatesÌýeditor, define optional elements for a print template.

With this update, the following element is now supported:

  • QR Code - Prints a QR Code on the receipt. Scanning the QR Code on the receipt facilitates the product return/exchange process.

The QR Code element is supported on the following receipt templates:

  • Final Receipt

  • Guest Check

  • Receipt

  • Refund

Role Permissions

The following identifies the related user role permissions, which are defined for users from the ¶¶ÒõPortal:

  • Functions.Exchange.Existing - Allows the user to initiate an item Exchange when the customer provides a receipt

  • Functions.Exchange.Open - Allows the user to initiate an item Exchange when the customer does not provide a receipt or any other proof of purchase

  • Functions.Exchange.Threshold.Override - Allows the user to override the item Exchange when the difference in the amount between two exchanging items exceeds the configured threshold.

Product Return Enhancements

The following identifies enhancements to the Product Returns feature:

  • Returned products are now identified and formatted in accordance with the updated receipt template.

  • Added support for theÌýCommentÌýitem-level action for retail products.

  • The POS respects the payment type availability settings defined in Data Management for product returns and refunds.

  • UpdatedÌýemail templatesÌýto include a placeholder for a QR Code on customer receipts.

Add Comments

Added support for Comment action for retail items. Item-level comments can now be added, edited, and deleted for retail items.

The POS item level action Comment must be enabled for the terminal scheme.

Customer Receipts

Returned products are now identified and formatted on customer receipts in accordance with the updated receipt template.

Payment Type Availability

The POS supports the payment type availability settings defined in Data Management for product returns and refunds.

This update ensures that only eligible payment types are available for selection when processing a product return or refund.

Payment Type Configuration

The following settings are located on the General page of the Payment Type editor in Data Management:

  • Allowed for Refund - ToggleÌýOnÌýif the payment type can be used for a refund.

  • Allowed for Return - ToggleÌýOnÌýif the payment type can be used for a product return.

QR Code on Email Receipt

Updated Email Templates to include a placeholder for a QR Code.

The QR code placeholder is located directly above the footer of the email receipt.

The cashier at the POS scans the QR Code printed on the customer's email receipt to quickly locate their order.

¶¶ÒõMobile Manager - Dark Theme

To improve user experience, ¶¶ÒõMobile Manager now has the option to enable Dark Theme.

Implemented a Dark Theme for the application UI for users who prefer a dark background.

To enable the Dark Theme for the app:

  1. Locate the Appearance section.

  2. Toggle Enable dark theme on to display the app in a dark theme. By default, this setting is toggled off.

  3. From the upper-right of the screen, select the check mark to apply the changes and return to the previous screen.

Multiple Child Pricing Rules

PRMA-5148

Simplified Price Engine logic and added configurations for multiple quantity-based prices for an item in which different prices are applied based on the specified priority and range.

Example: Items with 2x a modifier, where 1st item is free and the 2nd is a non-default price set from the Point of Sale system. When 1x modifier is selected the item is free. When 2x modifier is selected the item is priced at the price set for the POS.

Updated the Price Engine logic to support multiple quantity-based pricing rules assigned to the item at once. This makes it possible to apply prices from different quantity-pricing rules simultaneously in one order.

Analytics and Customer Engagement Integration Improvement

Improvement to the Analytics and Customer Engagement (ACE) Integration.

To optimize communication and response time of Redeem and Void requests, XGL sends requests only after receiving a response from ACE with the current reward(s) available. This update helps to prevent requests from failing due to multiple requests being performed for the same account within a fraction of a second.
