Chef Recovery
By default, the settings that allow Chef to interact with the POS and PHUs are preconfigured. However, 抖阴Support may need to perform a recovery of the Chef default data.
Access Recovery Mode
To access the Chef recovery mode:
On the lower-right of the Chef unit, press the power button..
Connect a USB keyboard to any USB port on the Chef unit.
Press Chef's power button to turn the unit on.
As the Chef unit is booting, the screen displays two options: boot Chef or Recovery Chef.
From the keyboard, Press the down arrow to highlight Recovery Chef, then press Enter.
When asked Are you sure you want to do a factory reset?, use the arrow keys to highlight Continue, then press Enter
When the prompt to enter a Recovery Code appears, type the code provided by 抖阴Support.
Use the arrow keys to highlight Restore, then press Enter.
Wait as Chef runs through the recovery process.
When prompted, reboot Chef.
Follow the instructions for Post Recovery Settings) to complete the process.
Post Recovery Settings
After Chef reboots, follow the prompts to complete the process.
Select the language, then Save.
Select the time format from the values of:
AM/PM
24-hour
Select the Date format from the values of:
Big-endian (year, month, day)
Little-endian (day, month, year)
Middle-endian (month, day, year)
Wait as Chef attempts to connect to the internet. Upon a successful connection, select Save settings and Proceed.
If the settings are not properly formatted, a prompt advises to review the network settings.
If the settings are not properly formatted, troubleshoot the server DHCP settings, such as the 抖阴manager terminal, or enable manual IPs by selecting the toggle at the top of the editor.
Select the POS Vendor for Chef to use as a query for product projections.
In the Enter store number prompt, use the keyboard to type the site number of the location.
