About Upstream Screens

In an upstream environment, the items that make up an order are prepared at multiple stations prior to final assembly and delivery to the customer.

The station where final assembly of an order occurs has an "assembly" screen. The assembly screen is dependent on other "upstream" screens to complete an order. The order items from the upstream screens also appear on the assembly screen.

Once all order items are prepared and bumped from the upstream screens, the order is assembled and then bumped from the assembly screen.

"Upstream Indicators" are optionally used to indicate the status of order items on upstream screens and to enforce upstream bumping.
