Sorting Rules

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Kitchen Settings → Kitchen Screen Settings → Sorting Rules

From the Sorting Rules page of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor, define custom rules for how items and orders are sorted and prioritized on the kitchen screen.

Item Sorting Rules

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Kitchen Settings → Kitchen Screen Settings

To define custom sorting rules for order items:

  1. From the Sorting Rules page of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor, locate the Item Sorting Rules section.

  2. From the Sorting Rules field, select Custom.

  3. From the upper-right of the Custom Sorting Rules section, select Add Sort Options.

  4. From the Add Sort Options window, select the preferred item sorting option(s):

    Option

    Description

    Display Time

    Sort items based on the time when they are displayed on the screen.

    Select this option to sort items in the sequence in which the items were bumped from the upstream screen.

    Item Priority

    Define how order items are sorted on kitchen displays and kitchen receipts to ensure the kitchen staff prepares orders in the most expeditious manner.

    Enable Item Priority to sort order items in the following sequence:

    • Item Priority > Sequence Number > Serial Number > Arrival Time

      • In this sequence, an order item flagged as a priority item is displayed ahead of non-priority items on the kitchen ticket.

    Disable Item Priority to sort order items in the following sequence:

    • Sequence Number > Serial Number > Arrival Time

      • In this sequence, standard order items and order items flagged as priority items are displayed in the sequence in which they are received.

  5. From the lower-right of the Add Sort Options window, select Add [#] Sort Options.

  6. From the Custom Sorting Rules section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed sorting rules to sort them from highest to lowest priority (where the sorting rule at the top of the list has the highest priority).

Item Sorting Rules: Options

When Default is selected from the Sorting Rules field, the Options section is displayed. The Options section is not available when Custom is selected from the Sorting Rules field.

The following describes the options available from the Options section:

Item Priority

Define how order items are sorted on kitchen displays and kitchen receipts to ensure the kitchen staff prepares orders in the most expeditious manner.

Enable Item Priority to sort order items in the following sequence:

  • Item Priority > Sequence Number > Serial Number > Arrival Time

    • In this sequence, an order item flagged as a priority item is displayed ahead of non-priority items on the kitchen ticket.

Disable Item Priority to sort order items in the following sequence:

  • Sequence Number > Serial Number > Arrival Time

    • In this sequence, standard order items and order items flagged as priority items are displayed in the sequence in which they are received.

Order Sorting Rules

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Kitchen Settings → Kitchen Screen Settings

To define sorting rules for order items:

  1. From the Sorting Rules page of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor, locate the Order Sorting Rules section.

  2. From the Sorting Rules field, select Custom.

  3. From the upper-right of the Custom Sorting Rules section, select Add Sort Options.

  4. From the Add Sort Options window, select the order event(s) by which to sort orders on the kitchen screen.

    For example, select Future Send Time to sort orders by their respective Future Send Time from earliest to latest.

  5. From the lower-right of the Add Sort Options window, select Add [#] Sort Options.

  6. From the Custom Sorting Rules section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed sorting rules to sort them from highest to lowest priority (where the sorting rule at the top of the list has the highest priority).

    Note

    By default, orders are sorted by their respective Arrival Time. To use the default sorting rule, select Default from the Sorting Rules field.

Queue Time Values

To define an alternate value for the Queue Time sort option:

  1. From the right of the Queue Time row, select the 3-dot menu.

  2. From the popup menu, select Edit Alternate Values.

  3. From the Alternate Value dropdown, select an alternate sorting criterion to use if the Queue Time sorting rule is not defined.

  4. From the lower-right of the Alternate Value window, select Add.
