Modifier Builds

To create a modifier build:

From the Modifier Build List homepage, select New Modifier Build.

From the menu pane on the left, select a page and define the respective settings.

The following introduces the pages of the聽Modifier Builds editor.

Page	Description
General	Define general settings for a modifier build including its active status.
Modifiers	Add modifiers to a modifier build.
Pricing	Define pricing settings for the modifiers in the modifier build.
Kitchen	Specify preparation instructions for the modifier build to be referenced by the kitchen staff.
Modifier Collections	View a list of the modifier collections associated with the modifier build. A "modifier collection" is a collection of the base modifiers that are available for an item at the POS.

General

From the General section of the General page of the Modifier Builds editor, define the following settings:

Setting	Description
Name	Type a name for the modifier build.
External ID	Type an external identifier for the modifier build. External identifiers are product references used by external third-party services.
Build Type	From the dropdown, select the desired behavior for a quick build: Augment - Modifiers are added to any modifiers already applied to the order item. Replacement - Modifiers replace any modifiers already applied to the order item.
Active	Toggle to Active if the modifier build is available at the site. Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.

From the Build Tags section of the General page, define the following:

Setting	Description
Tags	From the dropdown, select the tags to assign to the modifier build (if applicable). To add a new tag, type the tag in the provided field, and then select Add New. Tags can be used to associate records for reporting purposes.

Modifiers

From the Modifiers page of the Modifier Builds editor, add modifiers to a modifier build:

From the Modifiers section, select Add Modifiers.
From the Add Modifiers window, select the modifiers.
From the lower-right, select Add [#] Modifiers.

Pricing

From the Pricing page of the Modifier Builds editor, define settings related to how the modifiers are priced:

Setting	Description
Pricing Method	From the dropdown, select the desired pricing method. The selected method determines if the price of the modifier build is equal to the total price of the modifiers included in the build. Not Priced - (default) The modifier build is not priced. Sum Modifier Prices - The price of the modifier build is determined by adding together the price of the included modifiers.

From the dropdown, select the desired pricing method.

The selected method determines if the price of the modifier build is equal to the total price of the modifiers included in the build.

Not Priced - (default) The modifier build is not priced.
Sum Modifier Prices - The price of the modifier build is determined by adding together the price of the included modifiers.

When Sum Modifier Prices is selected from the Pricing Method dropdown, the following additional settings are displayed:

Setting	Description
Subtract Price on Modifier Removal	Toggle Yes to subtract the modifier price from the build price if a modifier is removed from the order. Toggle No to NOT subtract the modifier price from the build price if a modifier is removed from the order.
Subtract Price on Modifier Replacement	This setting determines if the price of a modifier build is affected when a modifier included in the build is replaced with a variant. Toggle Yes to subtract the price of the modifier from the build price when it is replaced with a variant. Toggle No to NOT subtract the price of the modifier from the build price when it is replaced with a variant.
Roll Up Price	From the dropdown, select the applicable option. The selected option determines how the modifier price is rolled up into a parent product price. Do Not Roll Up - Do NOT roll up the price to the parent product price. Roll Up After Tax - Roll up the price to the parent product price AFTER tax is applied. Roll Up Before Tax - Roll up the price to the parent product price BEFORE tax is applied.
Tax Inclusive	Toggle Tax Inclusive to Yes if all applicable taxes are included in the price. When enabled, tax is not applied to the price when the modifier build is added to an order. Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.
Tax Group	From the dropdown, select the tax group to assign to the modifier build. The selected tax group determines the tax rate to apply to the modifier price.

Kitchen

From the聽Kitchen聽page of the聽Modifier Builds editor, define kitchen settings for a modifier build.

In the聽Preparation Instructions聽field, type the聽preparation instructions聽for the modifier build for the kitchen staff. Format the text as needed.

Select the image icon The universal image icon. to upload an image. Valid image files: PNG, JPEG, and (single frame) GIF.

The preparation instructions are accessible from the Kitchen and the Ordering application.

Modifier Collections

From the Modifier Collections page of the Modifier Builds editor, view the list of the modifier collections that include the modifier build.

A "modifier collection" is a collection of the base modifiers that are available for an item at the POS.
