Printing Settings

The following describes the settings on the Printing page of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor.

Printing

Determine if a receipt is printed once from the screen that is configured for several stations.

Print On Bump

Determine if a kitchen chit is printed when an order is bumped. Specify the printer and template for the kitchen chit.

Print Item Label

Determine if an item label is printed during specific order events. Specify the printer and template for the item label.

Print Customer Receipt On Bump

Determine if a customer receipt is printed when an order is bumped. Specify the printer and template for the receipt.

Description

Consolidate Print Jobs

Toggle Yes to print only one (1) receipt when an order/item is bumped from this screen regardless of the number of kitchen stations where this screen is used.

Toggle No to print a duplicate receipt for each kitchen station where this screen is used.

This setting is supported in XKM versions 3.9 (and later).

Print On Bump

Print On Bump

Toggle Yes to print a kitchen chit when an order is bumped from this screen.

Printer

This field is only available when a printer is selected from the Printer dropdown.

From the dropdown, select the printer for Print On Bump chits for this screen.

Print Template

This field is only available when a printer is selected from the Printer dropdown.

From the dropdown, select the template to use for Print On Bump chits for the selected printer.

To configure the template, use the Receipt Templates editor.

Print Item Label

The Print Item Label section contains settings for printing sticky item labels during specific events. The printed item labels are applied to order items for identification purposes.

The following describes the item label printing options:

Print Item Label On Bump

Toggle Yes to enable item label printing when an order or item is bumped from this screen.

Print Item Label on Claim

Toggle Yes to enable item label printing when an order item is claimed from this screen.

Print Item Label on Demand

Toggle Yes to allow the user to print item labels as needed.

When enabled, the user is able to long press an item on the kitchen display, and select Print Label from the popup menu.

To select a specific printer for item label printing, define the following settings:

Print Template for Item Label

This field is only available when a printer is selected from the Printer for Item Label dropdown.

From the dropdown, select the template to use for item labels for this printer.

To use the template that is currently assigned to the selected printer, select Use Printer Settings. Use the Peripherals editor to assign templates to printers.

To configure the template, use the Receipt Templates editor.

Printer for Item Label

This field is only available when:

  • One or more of the item label print options is toggled Yes.

  • Enforce Printer Routing Rules is toggled No.

From the dropdown, select the printer for item label printing for item bump and/or item claim events.

Reprint Item Label

Toggle Yes to enable the user at the POS to reprint an item label as needed.

When enabled, the user is able to long press an item on the kitchen display, and select Reprint Label from the popup menu.

To enforce printer routing rules and identify a set of printers for item label printing:

Enforce Printer Routing Rules

Toggle Yes to route order items on this kitchen screen to all the kitchen printers assigned to this screen for item label printing (on bump and/or on claim) based on the kitchen routing category rules defined for the printers.

Printers for Item Label Set

This section is only available when Enforce Printer Routing Rules is toggled Yes.

To identify a set of printers for this kitchen screen for item label printing:

  1. From the upper-right of the Printers for Item Label Set section, select Add Printers.

  2. From the Add Printers and Templates for Item Label window, select Add Printers.

  3. From the Add Printers window, select the printers.

  4. From the Template dropdown next to each selected printer, select the template to use for item labels.

    To use the template that is currently assigned to the selected printer, select Use Printer Settings. Use the Peripherals editor to assign templates to printers.

    To configure the templates, use the Receipt Templates editor.

  5. From the lower-right of the window, select Add Set.

More than one set of printers may be added to a kitchen screen with different site assignments.

Printers can be added to an existing printers set. When editing an existing printers set, select and drag the square to the left of the listed printers to sort them in the desired sequence.

Reprint Item Label

Toggle Yes to enable the user at the POS to reprint an item label as needed.

When enabled, the user is able to long press an item on the kitchen display, and select Reprint Label from the popup menu.

Print Customer Receipt On Bump

Print Customer Receipt On Bump

Toggle Yes to print a Customer Receipt when an order is bumped from this screen.

Printer for Customer Receipt

This field is only available when Print Customer Receipt On Bump is toggled Yes.

From the dropdown, select the printer for Customer Receipts for this screen.

Print Template for Customer Receipt

This field is only available when a printer is selected from the Printer for Customer Receipt dropdown.

From the dropdown, select the template to use for Customer Receipts for this printer and screen.

To configure the template, use the Receipt Templates editor. The following identifies the valid template types:

  • Final Receipt

  • Receipt

  • Table Service Restaurant (TSR) Receipt
