Use the Menu editor to create and manage the Ordering application menus.

New Menu

Create a new menu.

Search

Search for an existing menu by name.

View

From the dropdown, select the preferred option:

  • Expand/Collapse All - Expand/collapse the menu list.

  • Default View - View a list of active records.

  • Deleted Items View - View a list of deleted records.

  • Save as New View - Save the current view.

Page Navigation

Use the provided controls to navigate the pages of the Menu List.

Name

Menu name.

Color 1/2

The POS display color(s) assigned to the Menu Item Group.

Type

Identifies the menu component type.

3-Dot Menu

From the dropdown, select an action to perform on the record. The available actions are dependent on the menu component type.

Menu Components Overview

The following describes the components that are used to create a menu, listed from the lowest-level component to the highest.

Menu Item Group

Collection of similar products that are grouped together on a menu.

The Menu Item Group component provides the ability to segment products on a menu by type.

  • Lunch/Dinner Sides

  • Pies

Menu Category

Collection of similar menu item groups -OR- a collection of other menu categories.

Menu Categories are displayed across the top of the menu. The sequence in which the Menu Categories are displayed on the Ordering application is based on their input/ID.

  • Dinner Entrees

  • Lunch Specials

  • Desserts

Create Menu

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Menu Layout → Menu

To create a ¶¶ÒõCloud POS menu:

  1. From the upper-right of the Menu List homepage, select New Menu.

  2. From the menu pane on the left, select a page and define the respective settings.

    The following introduces the pages of the Menu editor.

    Define general settings including the menu name and sort order.

    Appearance

    Select the images that will be displayed for this menu.

    Availability

    Define the availability of the menu based on order source, order destination, and time period.

    Menu Categories

    Add Menu Categories to the menu.

    Roles

    Identify the user roles that are permitted to access the menu.

General

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Menu Layout → Menu

From the General page of the Menu editor, define general settings for a menu.

  1. In the Name field, type a name for the menu.

  2. In the Sort Order field, type the sequence number for this menu.

    The Sort Order defined for each menu determines the order in which the menus are sorted on the POS.

Appearance

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Menu Layout → Menu

From the Appearance page of the Menu editor, select the images that will be displayed for this menu.

  1. From the Menu Images section, select the applicable Image Set.

  2. From the action bar located above the Image Set list, select Edit.

  3. From the Edit Image window, define the following:

    Type a name or description of the image.

    Image Source

    Select the source of the image:

    • URL - Specify the network or Internet URL for the image. In the Address field, type the URL for the image file.

    • Upload Image - Upload an image to the cloud. Select Choose File to locate and select the image file.

    The image is displayed in the Preview section. Select the image to zoom in.

  4. From the lower-right of the Edit window, select Done.

Nota

All Image Sets with a Usage type of Menu are listed in this section. To add an Image Set to the list, use the Image Sets editor.

Availability

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Menu Layout → Menu

From the Availability page of the Menu editor, define availability settings for a menu, including:

Availability

To define a menu's availability at a site:

  1. From the Availability page, locate the Availability section.

  2. Toggle Active to Active if the menu is available for use at the site.

    • Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.

Order Sources

To define a menu's availability by order source:

  1. From the Availability page, locate the Order Sources section.

  2. Toggle Allow Order Source Restriction to On to restrict the menu's availability to specific order sources.

  3. Toggle Available to Yes for each order source where the menu is available.

Destinations

To define a menu's availability by order destination:

  1. From the Availability page, locate the Destinations section.

  2. Toggle Allow Destination Restriction to On to restrict the menu's availability to specific order destinations.

  3. Toggle Available to Yes for each order destination where the menu is available.

Time Periods

To define a menu's availability by time period:

  1. From the Availability page, locate the Time PeriodsÌý²õ±ð³¦³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô.

  2. Toggle Allow Time Periods Restriction to On to restrict the menu's availability to specific time periods.

  3. °Õ´Ç²µ²µ±ô±ðÌýAvailableÌý³Ù´ÇÌýYes for each time period where the menu is available.

Priority Level for Menu Availability

If more than one menu is configured as the default menu for the same time period, the menu with the most defined restrictions is given priority.

  • A date range restriction has the highest priority.

  • If more than one menu has a date range restriction:

    • The shorter date range has the highest priority.

    • If the date ranges match, then the day of the week is given the highest priority.

    • If the days of the week match, the shorter time range is given the highest priority.

  • If all restrictions match, then the menus are prioritized alphabetically by menu name.

Menu Categories

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Menu Layout → Menu

From the Menu Categories page of the Menu editor, add the menu categories to include on a menu.

Sugerencia

Sort the Menu Categories from most to least popular.

  1. From the Menu Categories section, select Add Menu Categories.

  2. From the Add Menu Categories window, select the menu categories.

  3. Select Add # Menu Categories.

  4. From the Menu Categories section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed categories to sort them in the desired sequence.

Roles

¶¶ÒõCloud Portal → 4-Dot Menu → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Menu Layout → Menu

From the Roles tab of the Menu editor, identify the user roles that are permitted to access the menu:

  1. Toggle Restrict By Roles to the preferred value:

    • Yes - Only allow users with the specified role(s) to access the menu.

    • No - Do NOT restrict access to the menu by user role.

  2. From the upper-right of the Authorized Roles section, select Add Roles to select the user role(s) that are permitted to access the menu.

Menu Actions

To perform an action on a menu:

  1. From the Menu List homepage, locate the menu.

  2. From the right of the Type column, select the 3-dot menu.

  3. From the 3-Dot Menu, select an action:

    Duplicate

    Create a copy of the menu.

    Add Menu Category

    Create a new Menu Category and link it to the menu.

    1. In the Name field, type a name for the Menu Category.

    2. (Optional) To open an editor and define the properties of the Menu Category immediately, select Open in editor after creation.

    3. Select Done.

To perform an action on a Menu Category:

  1. From the Menu List homepage, locate the menu.

  2. From the left of the menu name, select the right arrow to expand the menu components.

  3. From the list of menu components, locate the Menu Category.

  4. From the 3-Dot Menu, select an action:

    Remove the association between the menu category and its menu.

    Duplicate

    Create a copy of the menu category.

    Move Up

    Move up one level on the list.

    Move Down

    Move down one level on the list.

    Move to Top

    Move to the top of the list.

    Add Menu Item Group

    Create a new Menu Item Group and link it to the Menu Category.

    1. In the Name field, type a name for the Menu Item Group.

    2. (Optional) To open an editor and define the properties of the Menu Item Group immediately, select Open in editor after creation.

    3. Select Done.

Menu Item Group Actions

To view the products included in a Menu Item Group:

  1. From the Menu List homepage, locate the menu.

  2. From the left of the menu name, select the right arrow to expand the menu components.

  3. From the list of menu components, locate the Menu Category that contains the Menu Item Group.

  4. From the left of the Menu Category name, select the right arrow to expand its components.

  5. From the list of Menu Category components, locate the Menu Item Group.

  6. From the left of the Menu Item Group name, select the right arrow to view the products included in the Menu Item Group.

To perform an action on a Menu Item Group:

  1. From the Menu List homepage, locate the menu.

  2. From the left of the menu name, select the right arrow to expand the menu components.

  3. From the list of menu components, locate the Menu Category that contains the Menu Item Group.

  4. From the left of the Menu Category name, select the right arrow to expand its components.

  5. From the list of Menu Category components, locate the Menu Item Group.

  6. From the 3-Dot Menu, select an action:

    Unlink

    Remove the association between the menu item group and its menu category.

    Duplicate

    Create a copy of the menu item group.

    Move Up

    Move up one level on the list.

    Move Down

    Move down one level on the list.

Product Actions

To perform an action on an existing product:

  1. From the Menu List homepage, locate the menu.

  2. From the left of the menu name, select the right arrow to expand the menu components.

  3. From the list of menu components, locate the menu item group that contains the product.

  4. From the left of the menu item group name, select the plus sign + to expand its components.

  5. From the list of menu item group components, locate the product.

  6. From the 3-Dot Menu, select an action:

    Unlink

    Remove the association between the product and its menu item group.

    Move Up

    Move up one level on the list.

    Move Down

    Move down one level on the list.

    Move to Top

    Move to the top of the list.
